D4E1 Basic Edition

Sebastian likes nothing more than eating ice creams; Magnums to be exact. Because of an accident he contracted Tetraplegie a condition in which the four limbs have reduced muscular strength. This makes it difficult for him to eat ice creams without letting it slip out of his hands.

To help him a number of years ago the ice cream was developed: a set of rings that Sebastian can apply onto his fingers, so he can enjoy his magnums again to the fullest.

However a Magnum is not the favorite kind of ice cream for anyone with Tetraplegie. For this reason the ice cream aid was redesigned with the aim of extending the product for a larger target group and several types of ice creams.

The biggest adjustment is the variable diameter of the ring which need to be adjustable according to the user's fingers. In addition, attachments have been created for various ice cream types ranging from Cornets, Calippo's and ice coups in the most common sizes.

To make the ice cream aid the user measures the thickness of his fingers. These dimensions are then incorporated into a corresponding program. The type of ice cream (Magnum, Cornet, ice coup) can also be decided within the programm. Then the pieces are downloaded and staged into a ZIP - file. The user can have them printed at a local 3D Hub. The product is then ready for use!
